Straight From the Horses Mouth Workshop for Working with Youth with Oppositional Defiant and Conduct Disorder 
Mental Health Professionals have the opportunity to gain CEU’s on the Horse Sense farm at upcoming workshop.


Marshall, NC, 17 March, 2010
– Here is a chance for Mental Health Professionals to earn training outside of a classroom setting at the Horse Sense of the Carolinas, Inc. farm in Marshall with human and equine teachers. Horse Sense will be conducting a workshop, Straight From the Horses Mouth on Saturday, April 17, 2010, 9am – 4pm.

This workshop allows the opportunity for Continuing Education Units (CEU) through MAHEC, while experiencing an alternative approach to training in beautiful mountain farm scenery.

Horse Sense of the Carolinas, Inc., is offering a one-day interactive workshop designed to increase effective treatment of this challenging population as well as introducing participants to the powerful modality of Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy based on the Equine Assisted Growth And Learning Association’s (EAGALA) Model. Participants will learn and practice establishing meaningful rapport, understanding client’s core belief system/patterns, and how to best work with the unique developmental stage of adolescence. Participants will explore creative ways to work with and learn from client’s resistance to treatment. Registration is provided through MAHEC, the Mountain Area Health and Education Center.
