Gregory Milunich has joined The Family Foundation School as director of a new Extended Academic Services program

Gregory Milunich has joined The Family Foundation School as director of a new Extended Academic Services program. The program is designed to identify and address individual learning difficulties and provide special tutoring and other learning support to students needing academic help.

Milunich, who holds a masters degree in special education, taught previously in the Harpursville (New York) Central School District. In helping students overcome challenges in the classroom, he takes into account individual intelligence, learning styles and other issues that affect learning to determine the best approach for individual students.

Milunich's department also oversees the P.A.S.S. program (Personal Academic Student Services), a peer tutoring program in which academically successful students are trained to tutor those who are struggling on an as-needed basis. According to Milunich, many students respond well to peer help, while others need the one-on-one tutoring provided by the teaching staff.

In addition to his special education work, Milunich teaches English classes at FFS.

Off campus he is an avid photographer and is currently the co-administrator of the Binghamton Photogroup.
